Selling a phone case as a style, not as a protection spec
Sessions 77k → 95k
The brand's copy argued about drop ratings while its buyers were searching for an aesthetic. Rebuilding the catalog around style vocabulary moved it into a set of searches it had never appeared in.

The challenge
Every listing in the catalog led with the same argument: military-grade drop protection, tested to a number of feet. That argument is true, it is also identical to what several hundred other sellers say, and it answers a question most of this brand's buyers were not asking.
Search data said something different. The terms with real volume around these designs were descriptive of appearance — minimalist, clear, matte, pastel, vintage-looking — and the brand appeared on none of them, because the words never occurred anywhere in its listings. It was competing exclusively in the most crowded and least differentiated part of the category while its actual advantage, design, was invisible to search.
Our approach
We let each design be found by the people who want that look.
- A style vocabulary built from search data and review text, not from the internal design language the team used with its factory.
- One style archetype per listing — the design named and led with the aesthetic it belongs to, with protection demoted to a supporting bullet.
- Imagery that shows the case as an object, photographed the way the buyer imagines carrying it rather than mid-drop-test.
- Campaigns split by archetype, which separated segments with wildly different competition and cost per click that had been averaged together.
Inside the ad account

Anonymized account view, rebuilt from the figures reported above: ad sales growing from $78k to $135k a month while ACoS falls from 35% to 23% across the 8-month engagement.
The results
Sessions grew from 77k to 95k a month, and revenue rose 73% on a catalog that did not gain a single new design.
Ranking keywords carrying a style modifier went from 60 to 740 — the brand simply was not present in those searches before, because the words describing its own products were not on its own pages. Conversion rose 41% as well: a shopper who searched for a look and found it does not need to be convinced about drop ratings.
“The person buying a case has decided how it should look before she types anything. Our copy was written for an engineer.”
