What Amazon consulting is

Amazon consulting is senior advice for a brand whose own team runs its Amazon business. A consultant audits the account, sets the strategy and reviews the team's decisions, while the daily work in Seller Central and the ad console stays in-house.

Our consulting draws on the same work we do in the accounts we manage: advertising, Amazon SEO, creative and catalog. Brands usually come to us at one of three points. Some have an in-house Amazon manager or team and want a second opinion from people who see many accounts. Some are between agencies and want an independent view of the account before they hire again. Others plan to build a team and want the structure right before the first hire.

We work with established brands doing $500k–$30M a year on Amazon, and most of our clients sit between $1M and $5M. If you would rather hand the work over entirely, see full account management.

What we consult on

Account audit

A review of campaigns, listings, creative, catalog and account health, measured against your margins. You get a written list of problems ranked by what they cost you, with a fix for each.

Growth strategy

A plan built from your revenue and profit goals: which products to push, where the ad budget should go and what to fix first. Your team gets the priorities along with the reasoning behind them.

Advertising review

Campaign structure, bids, budgets and search terms across Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display, plus DSP and AMC where the account uses them. Findings come as changes your team can make.

Listing and conversion review

Titles, bullets, backend keywords, images and A+ content checked against what shoppers search for and what competitors show. You get a prioritized list of listing changes, starting with the products that carry your revenue.

Advisory sessions

Calls where your team brings a decision, such as a launch, a price change or a sudden drop in sales, and gets a senior opinion before acting on it.

Team coaching

Working sessions with the people who run your account, built around your own campaigns, listings and reports.

Consultant, agency or in-house team?

The difference is who does the work. A consultant advises and your team makes the changes. An agency takes the work over. An in-house team on its own does both, drawing only on its own experience.

Consulting fits when your team has the hours to do the work and wants senior judgment on what to do with them. If the team is already stretched, management fits better: Amazon PPC management when advertising is the main gap, or full account management for the whole channel.

Who you'll work with

Scaling Peak is led by its founder, Mykola Melnyk. He has worked in Amazon advertising since 2014 and has launched and scaled more than 100 products, from early private-label brands to companies doing millions a year on Amazon.

The advice comes from the team that manages client accounts every day, so it reflects what is working in live campaigns now. When we look at your category, we use Scaling Pilot, our in-house software that tracks competitors' advertising and organic visibility, to see what the brands around you are doing. We are an Amazon Ads Verified partner.

How a consulting engagement works

  1. 1

    Discovery call

A 30-minute call about your business, goals, current metrics and the people who run the account. We agree whether consulting fits and what it should cover.

  2. 2

    Access and data

You grant user permissions from your own Seller Central and advertising accounts and share your margins and targets. You never hand over your login.

  3. 3

    Audit

We work through the areas in scope, from advertising and listings to creative, catalog and account health, and measure each against your margins and your competitors.

  4. 4

    Findings and plan

We walk your team through what we found, ranked by impact, and agree a plan with an owner for each change.

  5. 5

    Your team implements

Your team makes the changes in the account. We answer questions and review the work as it goes live.

  6. 6

    Review and next step

We check results against the targets and adjust the plan. Then we decide together what comes next: more advisory work, a hand-off to management, or nothing further if your team has it covered.

How we charge for consulting

The scope and format of the work decide the fee. A single account audit, ongoing advisory work and team coaching take different amounts of time, and so do a large catalog and several marketplaces. We agree the scope on the discovery call and give you exact numbers there. We bill in USD and accept ACH, wire transfer and card.

If you want an outside view of the account before committing to an engagement, start with a growth plan. We review your advertising, listings, creative and competitors and send you a growth roadmap, with no obligation. To check the basics yourself first, our guides on auditing an Amazon PPC account and the Amazon listing audit checklist cover the same ground an audit starts from.

Who it's for, and what we don't do

Consulting fits an established brand doing $500k–$30M a year on Amazon that has people to do the work: an in-house Amazon manager or team, a founder who still runs the account, or a brand between agencies. Most of our clients sell physical products in Home & Kitchen, Health & Personal Care, Beauty, Home & Household, Toys, Pet, Baby or Outdoor.

It isn't the right fit yet for pre-launch products with no sales history, products with broken unit economics, commodity products with nothing to set them apart, or accounts that are suspended or under policy review.

What consulting doesn't include

  • Running the account. Your team makes the changes in Seller Central and the ad console. If you want us to make them, that is management, and we offer it as a separate service.
  • Guarantees. We don't promise a specific ACoS, ranking or revenue figure. We agree targets based on your margins and measure the results against them.

If you need something that isn't covered here, ask on the discovery call and we'll give you a straight answer.
