Answering the neighbours: quiet practice as the deciding feature

Quiet-practice revenue $11k → $97k / mo

The objection that kills an instrument sale is rarely price or quality. It is the person on the other side of the wall, and nothing on the brand's listings addressed them.

The challenge

Every instrument the brand sold had a headphone output or a practice mode, and none of the listings led with it. The copy sold tone, materials and build quality to an imagined buyer with a soundproofed room.

The real buyer lives in an apartment with thin walls, or has a partner who works from home, or a child who goes to bed at eight. In the questions section that concern outranked everything else — and an unanswered concern at that stage is not a lost feature, it is a lost sale, because the shopper resolves it by not buying at all.

Our approach

We made the quiet capability the headline rather than a specification.

  • Decibel figures, measured — how loud the instrument actually is in practice mode, compared with ordinary household sounds.
  • Headphone output shown in the first two frames, with the cable type named so nobody has to guess.
  • Search coverage for the objection — quiet, silent, apartment and headphone terms, which the category leaves almost uncontested.
  • Campaigns for the constrained buyer, whose conversion rate turned out to be well above the category average once the page answered them.

The results

Revenue from quiet-practice searches grew from $11k to $97k a month, lifting the account 63% overall.

Conversion rose 42% because the page now resolves the one thing that was stopping the purchase; noise questions fell by four fifths for the same reason. The brand did not change a single product — it started describing a capability every one of them already had.

“The listing sold tone. The question in the buyer's head was whether the neighbours would hear it.”
